Greetings New Readers! Hello Familiar Readers!
If you have just joined in as a ‘new reader’, it is important that you first read this page in which you are introduced to the GAME “SIXTEEN CANDLES”. In this game we identify sixteen words that tell important parts of Tara’s story. Then, over the coming months, we will expand on a selected word with a short passage that gives more details about this remarkable woman. In this way, we hope you come to know and understand the person so that you more deeply appreciate the essence of this website.
Exciting, n’est pas?
Let’s Begin, Please allow me to introduce myself:
My name is David Markus and I am very pleased to know that I have made a small contribution to the nameplate on this website. Now, the first thing you may notice is that it is not called davidmarkus.com. I assure you, there are good reasons for that! No, that wouldn’t do at all. Let’s just say we are all much better off with the name taramarkus.com.
I, for myself, am very content to be the “Supportive man behind the Great woman”. I am the husband-happy husband- who has the pleasure of welcoming you to this website and setting course by making all necessary introductions. So, welcome aboard, sit back, pull up a martini (virgin or otherwise) and let us begin.
Your first question might be, “Who is Tara Markus”? For anyone who has fallen under the spell of her contagious laugh, the answer is well known? But, for the rest of you, I am delighted to introduce. And, as you read a little of her story, I hope you will become excited to learn that the “joy of living” that is conveyed in that exuberant laugh is found throughout every adventurous escapade on her website.
Want to join in the fun? Let’s get started. Here’s a cute game you can try with someone close to you. I’ve done it for Tara and …well, see for yourself. I call the game “Sixteen Candles”. Here are the general playing instructions:
SIXTEEN CANDLES:
STEP ONE: Take a blank piece of paper (8 1/2 x 11 will do).
STEP TWO: Fold your paper in half.
STEP THREE: (forgive the repetition) Fold it again, and again and again…four folds in all!
STEP FOUR: Unfold the paper and, hopefully, you will have sixteen little rectangles all about the same size. Now, the juicy part…
STEP FIVE: Very quickly (don’t think about it – THAT’S THE KEY) fill each little rectangle with a singular word that you feel best describes your special person.
STEP SIX: (I suppose this is the real juicy part) Share.
Why “Sixteen Candles”?? Well, I think the “Sixteen” is obvious. But, as for the “Candles”…Now depending on the words you choose, you will either illuminate your tender connection or … set fire to the whole relationship. BEWARE! BE BRAVE!! I did it! Quickly, without hesitation, I put to paper the first sixteen words that came to my mind when asked to describe:
Tara Markus
Would you like to see? She sure did! And, guess what? I’m still standing; illumination not ruination.
Here they are:
So here we have it, the sixteen words that immediately came to mind when I described Tara’s lifebook. The words reveal important places in her life, as well as telling something of her pursuits, interests and values. Now, by way of deepening the description, let’s pick one of the words and expand a little further. (Select a word from the sub-menu or click on the keyword below)
