The Sensations of “You Be You”

Filed under:

Life can be extremely personal and intimate or it can be very open and worldly.  It’s humbling to see how people express their own ideas and sense of purpose.  It’s inspiring to know that people go the distance and make dreams come true.  It’s fascinating and extra-ordinary to learn that local and global connection takes place at home, in your community, across the water and at the top of tall mountains.  Anywhere, anytime, under any circumstance, the birth of an idea can take hold.

The exchanges of human desire, trust, heart and strong will is centered at the core of all that we trust and all that we do.  The inner dynamics of what makes us function as whole people living up to our potential is mighty complex and a hefty subject matter at best.  On the other hand, uncorking conversations that have naturally ripened with time, person to person, hand in hand, helps us to distill complexity and drink in life’s clear nectar with more ease and flow.  Simply put, the pureness of the human spirit sometimes pours out the sweetest tonics.  The ingredients of which are earthly organic and heavenly divine.  It is with this in mind that I believe the fusion of Mother Nature and the blend of child-like imagination created a story to be treasured.

The truth is most people have an optimistic and spectacular vision of life.    Most of us wish to inspire with greatness, even if it is in some small way.  That is human nature and, in my opinion, it is what makes us look out, look within and look up!    Hope, optimism, faith and humankind are forever more what fuels us to stretch ourselves in directions we never thought possible to travel.  It is indeed when we find ourselves traveling beyond imaginable limits that we discover who we are. We make connection with the preciousness of our unique individuality.  It is at such time that something magic-like happens and we begin to sprinkle our sparkle with all the other stars in the brightly lit constellation.

When we tune in, listen to the song that lives within a person we hear the voice of their message and feel the vibration of their presence.  It is moving.   The voice of one can change the rhythm of life for many.  That is exceptional.   And for me this was the birth and illumination for my “You be You “ creation.

At times life can be absolutely difficult, but in order for new growth to blossom we must plant the seeds of change. Envisioning new roles in our life can be challenging.  Change does not always come easy.  It can be a long process that percolates and drips like dew in a rainforest or it can happen swiftly and flow down a rivers current at rapid speed.  No matter how it happens, if we are present and truly connected, at certain times in our life, transition does happen naturally and with certainty.  Mother Nature steps in and cradles, holds everything in suspension until she is ready to release.  And when that happens, something exhilarating, something empowering, something raised up from small immediately becomes big.  It is profound. The benefits can be deeply enriching, life changing and cumulative.  Moreover, quite unexpectedly, the experience can turn into a vision that was founded on the belief that one voice, one action, one connection can set you on a trailblazing course that sparks an energy and movement designed to propel positive forward.

I know, because on a beautiful day bursting with sunshine and all that seemed heavenly, one voice changed my life. As light turned to evening and the stars began to twinkle I realized for the first time that perhaps it is the fragility of our own being that makes us so incredibly delicate and precious, and the strength of our sophisticated spirit that makes us so seductive, brilliant and powerful.

Together, in October 2005, my mother and I found the strength and courage to grabble with the facts before us. It was time for us to journey forward and explore new destinations- separately.  AND so, together late one night, we held hands and cried. Then, we held each other closer than ever before…so close it seemed, that our hearts beat as one.  Like a child (though in my forties) cradled in my mothers arms I looked to her for answers, for truth, for comfort and for hope…and like a child filled with unknown and uncertainty I asked my mother,  “What will I do?  How will I journey forward, how will I be whole?”  And with great calmness and such a sense of certainty my mother leaned in even closer, she dried my tears and she smiled.  There was a pause…  all at once it seemed the Universe stood still, – quietly she looked into me (like only a mother can do) and said
“YOU be YOU!  That is your Gift!  Feel the Sensations! Go out into the world and be who you are!  Embrace Life!  Live Life!  Choose to be happy. Choose to Love! Connect with people. Enjoy the gift of Living.”

In October 2005 my mother let go of my hand and spread her wings …
and …UBU Gift Sensations was born!

Today Tara Markus and UBU Gift Sensations share more than a heartbeat. Taramakus.com and UBU Gift Sensations are two thriving companies brought together as one because of the bond of love, the pleasure of adventure and the joy of creation. Even more, it is my hope that the synergy between these two entities models for all how positivity can put possibility into motion.

Yes, I hear the gentle soft whisper of my mother’s sweet voice throughout the year but I especially tune in and sing out every October.  I veer off the path and park my life away from the noise and I glance back in the rear view mirror.  There, I see the roadmap of what has brought me to now.  Then, with a smile, I rev the engine to hear the roar as all the motor parts and inner dynamics work together to put positivity in motion. I step down on the gas pedal and gear up to drive goodness forward.  And herein lies the wonder: this feeling, this glorious joy, it is here for everyone. It is here if you simply feel and believe that happiness resides in all things, that it lives even in our saddest moments, if we select to love our self, love others and take comfort in the experience of choice.
