Trust to be Vulnerable

Filed under:

Values.     Trust.    Vulnerability.

Look at the words.  Say the words.  Feel the words.

These three words:  Values * Trust * Vulnerability strike a chord in all of us.  Instinctively we identify.  Behind each word lies emotion, an experience and a story to be told.  The words even at a glance appear to bind us or unravel us.  No matter, somehow values, trust and vulnerability thread and stitch together and colourfully weave through all of our lives.  Sometimes it happens seamlessly and sometimes there are pulls and snags.  Whichever the case, with some certainty these three words strike a chord and remind us that life is not flawless, people are not without wrinkles. Imperfections exist, wrong-doings happen and our values and trust are soiled.  This can make us feel vulnerable and from time to time even cause us to emotionally unravel.   As human beings we are fragile, we can be strong, and some days we are just somewhere in-between.

As I sit here today, I reflect on the many challenges I have faced over the last number of years.  It’s been a long haul.  There has been loss of huge magnitude.  There have been damaged relationships and broken trust for which there are still splinters to be plucked. There have been high points and low points and times of vulnerability when, if it were not for my values and those dear to me, I believe I may have been swallowed up by it all.

But I was not swallowed.  Instead, today I am more whole than ever.  I am more in tune with the rhythm of life and the heartbeat of good people around me.  I feel more enlightened and more awakened to my life’s purpose. Indeed I feel more appreciative and aware of values, trust and vulnerability; my own as well as that of others.  I realize now, that more than ever I have reason to value, to trust and to be vulnerable.  Because if these three words (values, trust and vulnerability) do not make up a part of who we are, do not live within is then what pray tell will become of us individually and collectively? What future does our society hold for or children?

Yes, we will falter.  Yes we will unravel.  Yes we will have stories to tell, even stories with gaping holes and no explanations to offer.  This is life.  These are the life events that hold us together and make us human.  These are the experiences that must escalate our desire to strive to be more sensitive, more aware, more uplifting and more positive. These are the words  – these three words: values, trust, vulnerability that empower us to be leaders, loving parents and genuine people of good standing.  As human beings, we can learn to improve, forgive and trust to our values.

Let us never lose faith.  Let us open our minds and hearts to possibility.  Let us believe in growth, personal happiness and exalt one another through the extension of our own trust and the exposure of our vulnerability.  In this way, we will feel life.

One Response to Trust to be Vulnerable

Values Are At The Core Within, Which Affect ALL That We Do, Have Done, and Will Do.

How we believe, how we respond, why we make decisions, what we believe is important, all of this and everything is regulated by our deep-seeded values.

Reflecting on our values is critical to growing, maturing, evolving, and transforming from the brokenness we all experience, to experiencing our truest and greatest potential.
You are so on-target Tara, to remind us how important it is to be positive, never lose faith, exalt one another through the extension of our own trust and vulnerability, and…Feel Life!

Thanks Tara for your positivity:) EdC
